Classes are limited to 6 students.
Ages 13 and up only please unless noted.
Classroom Rules:
No shorts or open toed shoes.
No Food allowed. Non-alcoholic drinks are allowed, in closed top containers only.
Safety Glasses are required. We provide them but if you have your own you are welcome to bring them.
Stained glass is not an appropriate activity for pregnant women.

Stained Glass
Picture Frames Th. 8/8 or Fri. 8/9 6:30P Beautiful and functional! Pick a design (several available) and we will take you step by step in assembling pre-cut glass into a picture frame for a 4x6 photo. When you leave this 3 hour class you will have made your very own picture frame perfect to hold you treasured memories. $55 per person. Pressed Flower
Mini-panel Th. 8/15 or Fri 8/16 6:30P Pick your favorite colors of flowers and leaves, arrange them under glass, then solder them together to make a one-of-a-kind miniature stained glass panel (about 5"x5"). All materials are supplied. This same method can be used to laminate photos, postcards, invitations, etc. between glass and incorporate them into stained glass works. $55 per person. Pick one of 6 designs (Ice Cream Cone, sailboat, pet paw, butterfly, goofy bird, or dragonfly) and we will take you step by step through the are of Tiffany (copper foil method) stained glass. When you leave this 3 hour class you will have made your own one-of-a-kind suncatcher perfect for decorating or gift giving.
$45 per person. All tools and materials included. *

Know how to make stained glass but are struggling with one or more of the steps? Take our Summer Skills Classes and learn the "right" way to do things, and some tricks to make glass making easier and faster.
Sat. 8/3 Glass Cutting: We will discuss glass cutting tools, cutting pressure, and breaking techniques for curves, cutting accuracy, and more.
Sat. 8/10 Grinding: What makes a good grinder, different grinder bits available, grinder maintenance, and how to spot exactly what needs to be grounds are topics to be discussed.
Sat. 8/17: Foiling Tips and Tricks: If you often ask "What size and kind of foil should I use?" this is the class for you. Thicknesses, backings, and brands will be covered. We will also show you some great foil tricks like silhouettes, overlays, and how to make your own decorative edge foil.
Sat: 8/24 Perfect Soldering and Decorative Soldering: Our most popular skills class, since soldering is the biggest sore spot for most of us! We will take you through soldering tools, different types of solder and when to use what, and techniques to get smooth even beads. Once you know that we will also show you different decorative soldering styles you can make without having to invest in a special soldering iron!

If you ever wanted to learn the art of making beautiful pictures in colored glass this is the course for you. Taught by a glass artist with 38 years experience you will learn to construct stained glass in the copper foil (Tiffany) method. Covered topics include stained glass types, cutting and shaping glass, applying copper foil, proper soldering techniques, and studio safety. Students will start by making a suncatcher in their very first class. In subsequent classes they will make a small stained glass panel, and practice 3D techniques by making a jewelry box. A student's choice project with instructor assistance will finish out the course. Use of all studio equipment (cutters, pliers, grinders, etc.) throughout the course and materials for the first project are included in the course fee. Consumables (glass, foil, solder, chemicals) for all other projects must be purchased by the student (average cost $100-150 depending on glass chosen).

2 Week Stained Glass Succulents Thursdays 9/12 and 9/12 6:30P Plants that stay green forever and need no water? Sign me up! In this 2 week class you will learn to make a 3D succulent, or a 3D flower bouquet. Week one will be cutting and grinding, and week 2 assembly, with special attention to 3D construction concerns. When you leave this class you will be able to make a whole garden of gifts that need no attention (beyond a little dusting now and then). $75 per person. Intermediate/Advanced
3 Week Panel Lamp Class Wednesdays 10/10, 10/17, 10/24 6:30P By popular demand we are offering our first Stained Glass Lamp class. Pick from a variety of 4 sided or 6 sided lamp designs. Week one will be cutting and grinding. Foiling will be done between weeks 1 &2 at home. Week 2 we will solder the lamp panels with attention to straight edges measuring the same size. Week 3 we will assemble the panels and add a vase cap, ring, or spider (depending on the design). All materials, including a traditional "bronze" lamp base, are included. $150 per person. Air Plant Hangers
Friday 9/20 6:30P Make an elegant home for an easy to care for plant. We will teach you step-by-step to cut glass, wrap it in copper foil, and solder it together; no experience necessary. Open Studio Hours gives intermediate to advanced glass workers bench space, use of all studio tools and equipment (including glass saws and drills), and expert advice from a 40 year professional stained glass artist. Meet up with friends, or just get out of the house to pursue your bliss. Storage for projects and tools available.
10% discount on purchases of supplies (glass, foil, solder, etc.) made while attending Open Studio.
Project Packs $10 each. Each pack contains enough material to make 2-3 average suncatchers: 3 Yards 1/4" or 7/32" copper foil, 1 Yard 60/40 solder, and 1 pound scrap glass of your choice.

If Barbara Connors' Art Glass cancels a class for any reason registered students will be offered the choice of a refund on the class fees, or transferring the fees to another class within 12 months.
If a student cancels their participation in class with 24 hours or more prior notification students will be offered the choice of a refund on the class fees, or transferring the fees to another class within 12 months.
Students who notify Barbara Connors Art Glass with less than 24 hours notice, or who are "No -shows" will not be offered refunds or class transfers.
If Barbara Connors' Art Glass cancels a class for any reason registered students will be offered the choice of a refund on the class fees, or transferring the fees to another class within 12 months.
